You do not need a free weekend, a skip or a whole new storage system to make your home feel lighter. You need one small task a day, a clear method and a little momentum. That is exactly what this book gives you.
Over 30 days you will move from quick, low-emotion wins (the rubbish sweep, one clear surface, the bathroom cabinet, the fridge) through the kitchen, living room, bedroom and wardrobe, and finally to paper, digital clutter, storage spaces and sentimental items. Each day has a time estimate, step-by-step instructions and practical tips, and most take 10 to 30 minutes.
You will also learn the four-box method, six questions for hard decisions, the maybe box, how to donate, sell and recycle responsibly, and the daily, weekly and seasonal habits that stop clutter coming back. Kind, realistic and shame-free, it works for small flats and family homes alike.

For each task, set up four bags, boxes or areas. Keep: things you use, love, or genuinely need, which belong in this area. Relocate: things you are keeping but which belong somewhere else in the home. Donate or sell: usable items in good condition you no longer need. Recycle or rubbish: broken, expired, worn out or unusable items. At the end of each session, put the Relocate items away, take Rubbish out and put Donate items in your car or by the door. Do not let the boxes become new clutter. For items you truly cannot decide about, use a "maybe box". Put the items in, seal it, write today's date on it and put it out of sight. If you have not opened it in three to six months, donate it without opening it again. This takes the pressure off without letting indecision stop your progress. Do not buy storage containers yet. Declutter first, then see what you actually need to store. Many people find they need far fewer containers than they expected. Set a timer. Stop when it rings unless you are enjoying yourself. Finish one small area before starting another. Decide, do not dwell. Your first instinct is usually right.
