You have good ideas. You do good work. But in meetings the words do not come out the way you planned, someone else gets the credit, and the opportunities seem to go to people who simply ask louder. This book is a practical toolkit for changing that, without changing who you are.

Inside you will find a five-minute meeting prep routine, the point-reason-example formula for speaking clearly, and word-for-word scripts for the moments that shake confidence most: being interrupted, having your idea repeated, disagreeing with someone senior, being put on the spot and saying no. You will learn how to describe your achievements accurately without feeling like a show-off, how to recover quickly from mistakes and criticism, and how to ask for stretch projects, training, flexibility and support.

The book closes with everyday leadership habits you can practise before you have the title, and a 30-day plan with one small action a day. Quiet or outspoken, new to work or years in, this guide helps you be heard.

Most "I froze in the meeting" moments are really "I did not have my point ready" moments. Confident speakers rarely improvise as much as it seems. They prepare, briefly, in a way that makes speaking feel natural. Before any meeting where you want to contribute, spend five minutes on these questions: What is this meeting for, and what decision or outcome is expected? What is one point, question or idea I want to contribute? What is one fact, example or number that supports it? Who might disagree, and what will I say if they do? When in the agenda is the natural moment to say it? Write your point in one sentence. If you cannot fit it into one sentence, it is not clear yet. Keep trimming until it fits. When you speak, use this simple structure. Point: say your idea first. Reason: give one reason it matters. Example: give one concrete example or piece of evidence. "I suggest we move the launch to the second week of the month. The first week clashes with the quarterly close, so finance will not be able to support us. Last time we launched during close, approvals took three extra days." Notice what is missing: no long warm-up, no apology. The idea comes first, so people hear it.
